Remote Transmission Unit

The Remote Transmission Unit (RTU) is used on the shore or platform end of a real-time reporting wave gage. The RTU is housed in a rugged IP6 fiberglass shore box that can be mounted outside or inside. The box may be powered by local AC power or solar panels. A variety of communications options can be configured including standard telephone (POTS) and cellular phone. Radio and direct links can also be configured on special order.

The RTU provides a backup battery UPS for the WW instrument and communications gear. Two stage lightning protection is provided for all input and output connections. The RTU supports quick troubleshooting and repair with status LEDs, cable and ground isolation disconnects, and DIN rail mounting of all electronic modules.
